Beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing. We certainly need it to help us cope with all the ugliness out there.

Thank you again for keeping me in stitches this week. 🙃 Your posts are always interesting and sometimes they transport me to another world. I love the orangutans. They are so realistic I expect them to move any minute!❤️

What beautiful work. I am trying, with my own work, to lose myself in it the way you do. You are an inspiration. Thank you.

"A dive into the cool waters of creativity and paddle about!"

That's exactly what we should all do today. Thanks for the inspiration Owen! 💙💙

You are a poet with a stitch, Owen. Truly.

Happy Friday!

I love your work - and so much of your work is in the spontaneity of color and composition.

Don't let the pressure to sell stop you. Being an artist and seeling work are two very different things for most people. It's odd, writers are rarely asked to write this or that for a price - though that certainly happens. Let it flow....

The embroidered blanket is amazing

Thank you for saving those wonderful orangutans! They are beautiful! Your artistry is genius. Living in the US these days is difficult and your stories and work make me smile. Thank you for sharing.

Get as cosmic as you want! I love it when I just let my brain go down whatever rabbit hole it wants and see where I end up. I’ll start with something that either makes me mad or someone who just spouts complete nonsense that I can counter off the top of my head and I trip from subject to subject until I get it out of my system. It’s an amazing way to clear the clutter out of my brain and refocus it.

My best friend (25+ years) is the only one who can keep up with me and add to it. We have to make sure we have at least a couple of hours to talk every time lol. I love talking to her, but she’s on the west coast now and I’m on the east coast so there’s a 3-hour time difference. Easier in summer when I’m not teaching.

Thank you Beth 🙏 it must be hard having your best friend so far away.

Yes and no. Yes because we can’t just go grab dinner or lunch or coffee and we do miss each other terribly.

No because she went through a rough break up of her marriage a couple of years back, and for the first time in her life she’s living for herself instead of everyone else and she has always wanted to travel west. Her job allows her to do it…she’s a truly brilliant, and highly sought after travel Respiratory Therapist.

I’m just incredibly proud of her for having the courage to follow her dream. There is a plus…when she comes east to visit her family, she always makes sure she has at least a 24, sometimes 48 hour layover near me and we get to spend a day or two together on either end of her trip.

I’m going to visit her as soon as she gets settled with a permanent job. She’s on her last certification run (PICU/NICU), then she’ll hold every certification possible for an RT plus management and can virtually name her price.

She’s happy. And free. That’s all that matters to me. Distance is just a thing. It can be conquered.

❤️🕊️

That's a wonderful thing to hear, on many levels.

I love everything about your posts Owen. They are a beautiful escape from an ever increasing mad world.

I am a mosaic artist but love the ritual of stitching with a background in clothing design. The idea of reusing material that will end up in landfill, inspires me. I used to call our thrift shops Goodwill, as it was a brand however they closed down. Now, they are mostly Value Village or the Salvation Army (the Sally Anne). They are a treasure trove for mosaic artists but also for clothing and cool discards.

I am constantly inspired by the post. It has not been an easy year for me with health and other stressors but our art is necessary, isn’t it? Sending love across the ocean.

Thank you Cheryl 😊 I think we are lucky there must be at least a dozen charity shops in my area raising money for various organizations.
